Il Ponte Romano has the twin benefit of being private and peaceful and yet within easy walking distance of the medieval town of Fivizzano. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to cafes, shops and friendly family run restaurants. There is also a post office and several banks. In the summer there are often concerts in the main piazza which comes alive at night to be enjoyed by young and old. The Tourist Office is friendly, helpful and the source of local knowledge and tips.

Fivizzano boasts an Olympic-size public pool nearby. The spa town of Equi Terme, with sulphur springs and a pool, is a short drive away.

As well as wi-fi at Il Ponte Romano, it is also available in the town's main piazza, at the Cafe Elvetico, a ten minute walk away from Il Ponte Romano.

Fivizzano is ideally placed for a wide choice of activities - cycling, walking, riding or swimming. A short drive away is the beautiful coastline where you can take a boat from La Spezia to the Cinque Terra. Visitors can drive, or go by train, to the cities of Lucca, Parma and Florence, returning to Il Ponte Romano within a day.
